Yamaha Motors has recently launched their much awaited Yamaha R25 bike , the latest in their R series. It has been launched in Indonesia with a price tag of 53 Million Rupiah (₹2.70 lakh approximately). However, actual sell of bike will start off from July 2014.
The bike is a straight upgrade from YZF R15 and is powered by a 250cc liquid-cooled, in-line, four-stroke, two-cylinder engine giving out a power of 36 Bhp at 12,000 rpm and a peak torque of 22.1 Nm at 10,000 rpm, the newest in the Yamaha R-series line up takes its design cues from Yamaha R6S and R1. Its engine, comes mated to 6 speed manual transmission and the bike carries light-weight chassis.
The bike comes with an all new high-compression (11.6:1) engine which uses Yamaha’s unique DiASil (Die casting Aluminum-Silicon) cylinders for excellent heat dissipation and lighter weight. Currently in Indonesia, bike is available in 3 colors namely Racing Blue, Black Predator, and Diablo Red.
Yamaha said, its a racing bike you can take for everyday ride , will have similar ergonomics like R15 which can be suitable for day to riding too.
If launched in India, it will give competition to Kawasaki Ninja 300 , KTM RC390 and Honda CBR250R etc. However, rumours are that in India, it may get launched with single cylinder version to have competitive pricings.
