Tajmahal is world famous monument, there is actually nothing more to say about it as its been told so many times and in so many variations. However, being so big and diversified, Taj Mahal always has a new story for you every time you visit it. This Sunday, on our not so-official meet, weRoyal Riders, the Humanitarian Motorcycling Group of Agra decided for Taj Mahal but from its Eastern side, from the Taj Nature Walk. Its a beautiful natural forest-cover spreading over an area of 70 hectares, just 500 mts away from the Eastern Gate of Taj Mahal.
All Pictures of this Meet cum Ride.
Roughly 600 meters north-east to Taj Mahal, its ravenous reserve forest which provides a unique opportunity to view Taj. Amidst natural environs Taj can be viewed in different hues and shades from the mounds of this reserve forest. Every mound in this forest correlated to the historical, literary and cultural heritage of the Brij-bhumi.
Taj Nature Walk is vast, unlike Taj Mahal, its rarely crowded and you have to pay a moderate fee to enter it. Since its a big place to explore, be prepared for some good walking. It is also said that you may encounter some not so common animal species here. There are few watch tower like structures made inside the reserve to give you good view of landscape and ofcourse Taj Mahal.
So, our ride started around 0730, through Paliwal Park we went to Shilpgram and then to the “Taj Nature Walk”. You can actually park bikes much closer to a public parking available beside it. There is a fee to park bikes there.
Had some nice time exploring the place and there was also a brainstorming session about History of Taj Mahal since we have very knowledgeable people in our group, few have been associated with tourist industry and some with handy craft also. However, unfortunately for us or fortunate for Taj Mahal, there was some sort of renovation going on minarets of Taj Mahal so all pictures of Taj we got had support structure attached to minarets.
There were many of us who were visiting this place after plenty of years and some for first time, but every one actually liked it. Overall its a nice, peaceful place where you can enjoy beauty of Taj Mahal and Nature together with your friends and family. After a this short meet, we all had a lovely Agra traditional style breakfast at GMB Restaurant on Fatehabad Road. From there we dispersed for our home yet to meet again for next adventure and rides.
