There are hardly some car brands in India which falls under premium Urban Leisure Vehicle(ULV) segment. Even ULV could sound like an all new thing to you. But now it is going to be frequent term in Indian Auto Scene, Mahindra Ssangyong the leading car manufacturer is all set to launch the facelift version of SsangYong Korando C. The car will first be launched in Korea and then may come to India. Although the launch date of the car in India is not clear but as the company CEO says “the car will be launched next year in India”. CEO also said that “The Korando C comes with a new innovative style and have no doubt that it will be an attractive choice for drivers.”
Mahindra Ssangyong Korando Cwill have all new refined engine and power. The engine, designed and manufactured by the company, is both powerful and responsive, and its responsive acceleration allows the vehicle to stabilize driving under any circumstances. The interior of the car is pretty awesome including the dashboard, equipments and designing. On the other hand the new better front and rear exteriors with a simple body line gives this car a European style. Korando C is having projector headlights with a black bezel and LEDs, a 7-inch multimedia touchscreen with navigation and a sound system by Harmon/Kardon and also 3D map, black box, front and rear skid plates, side steps, tyre pressure monitoring system and a washer fluid heater. Its grills are colored same as the color of vehicle body.
The all new SsangYong will available in 3 variants and offers both manual and automated transmissions. Automatic transmission has 2 modes i.e Eco and sport. Sport mode provides greater acceleration and Eco mode is to save fuel and brings it to a fuel economy of 12.8 km pl. The manual transmission gives the fuel economy of 17.2 km pl. It comes with three years/60,000 km warranty for general parts and body. For safety it consists of 6 airbags and ESP (Electronic Stability Program).
It can accommodate 5 adults for a comfortable drive. The result has certainly placed Korando C in the excellent family car category. But reality can be only tested by time when we will see its road test as well as see user ownership experience. This would be good to see a new concept of ULV adoption in India.
