Triumph Range of Motorcycles launched in India, Price from Rs. 5.7 lacs onwards

After their first exhibit at the Auto Expo India in 2012, Triumph has finally launched its Indian subsidiary, headed by Ex Bajaj Industry Professional Vimal Sumbly. Triumph has acquired land at Narsapura, near Bangalore in Karnataka for their setup.

The British motorcycle giant has come up with complete line up of 10 models, including the classic Bonneville variants, Sports model Daytona 675R, Roadster models Street and Speed triple, and its big cruisers, Thunderbird Storm and Rocket III.

“India is an exceptionally exciting market for us and the premium motorcycle segment in the country is seeing tremendous growth,” Triumph Motorcycles Director – Sales and Marketing (Global) – Paul Stroud told reporters here.

The iconic motorcycle manufacturers has head on competition with Harley Davidson and Royal Enfield motorcycles in India, apart from the other low volume players such as Hyosung, Honda and Yamaha.

The company plans to have 9 dealerships opened in major cities in India, by March 2014, followed by an extensive dealership network, in 2nd tier cities, to have a service network that is easily approachable for its customers, which is one problem that its biggest competitor Harley Davidson faces.
