Leaked online few days back, the new facelifted Elantra (known as Avante at places) has been officially launched successfully in Korea. Hyundai is also planning to launch the same in India with in the coming months.
The new Elantra comes with a refreshed design and improved product features. The new Elantra is having an overall length of 4,550mm, which is 20mm longer than the previous one, while its wheelbase remains the same. Extended front and rear bumpers make the car looks more stabilized and balanced. The new Elantra is equipped with newly-designed front bumper, radiator grille, fog lamps, LED light guide and projection headlamps. The car is also now consists of redesigned 17-inch two-tone alloy wheels. The new Elantra has got a new black, two-tone rear bumper and LED Lamps as well.The company also has given a high value to customer’s feedback resulting which the new Elantra has got center air vent position moved upwards, and an increased position of the front center armrest. In terms of powertrain, it is having a 1.6-liter diesel engine with stop/go system producing a nice 128PS of power and 279Nm of torque. Working with the manual gearbox it will have a mileage of 18.51 kmpl while with the automatic it will become 16.1 kmpl. As for further changes in the car, it is now provided with the rear seat air vent, OLED display (3.5″) and ventilation seats. It now also comes with the SPAS (Smart Parking Assist System) which allows to be more informative while parking your car and and has flex steer.
The all new Elantra is expected to hit the Indian market by early 2014. The car is surely going to capture the upper class market segment and the pricing strategy of the company would be the skimming one but picture remains unclear until it enters in Indian market.
