Formerly known as Bajaj Tempo, Force motors has upgraded it’s portfolio in the personal vehicles segment of India by announcing its new base variant for it’s existing lineup of SUV familiar to us as, “Force One”. The name of this new variant is dubbed as Force One EX variant which trimmed down version of their existing EX and LX variants.
Force Motors manufactures a range of vehicles including Small Commercial Vehicles (SCV), Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV), Multi Utility Vehicles (MUV), Sports Utility Vehicles (SUV), Heavy Commercial Vehicles (HCV) and Agricultural Tractors. Some of them which are very popular in the domestic market are Force One Gurkha and Force One SUV itself in the personal vehicles segment. Coming back towards the the launch of the day, Force One EX variant is powered with a 2596cc direct injection intercooled turbo diesel engine which delivers a tremendous output of 60 kW @ 3200 rpm or 82 Ps @ 3200 rpm, maximum torque of 230 Nm @ 1800-2000 rpm with 18:1 of compression ratio. This same engine is also used to power Gurkha 4X4 SUV. This machine is mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. However, this motor is only BS III compliant and comes with only 2WD. The Force One EX is targeted towards the fleet and taxi market and comes with basic features such as a power steering, front fog lamps, A/C and central locking and steel wheels.
Company already offers SX which is powered with a 2.2-litre, common rail diesel engine which can produce 141 PS of power at 3800 RPM and 321 Nm of torque at the range between1600-2400 RPM. The SX and the LX trims come with a Mercedes-Benz-sourced 2.2-litre, OM611 common-rail engine that meets BS IV emissions norms and makes a Tata Safari-rivalling 139bhp and 32.6kgm of torque. It drives the rear wheels via the Mercedes-Benz G32 five-speed manual gearbox.
The SX model features with all the latest and trending specifications such as daytime running lamps, rear parking sensors, wing mirrors with integrated turn indicators, 16-inch alloys with all terrain tyres, 2DIN audio system with Bluetooth and steering mounted controls, leather seats, ABS and EBD, remote keyless entry and cruise control and shift-on-the fly 4WD system with a limited slip differential.
However, EX variant will be available for sell on all the leading distributors in the country whereas the LX and SX variant will be shipped later. The price of 2.5 EX variant for 7-seater us Rs. 8.99 lakh, 2.2 SX 6-seater is Rs. 11.79 lakh, 2.2 SX 7-seater is Rs. 11.71 lakh, 2.2 SX with ABS 6-seater is Rs. 12.06 lakh, 2.2 SX with ABS 7-seater Rs. 11.99 lakh.
