Tata Motors, India’s one of the biggest automobile giant and also now one of the well known brand worldwide is in process to spread its wings in Indonesian motor industry. As per reports by famous Indonesian auto website , they were able to spot TATA Indica, Tata Indica Vista and Tata Aria being tested on Indonesian roads.
It is however not confirmed by TATA but as per current vehicle spotted in Indonesian roads and also plans shown by TATA earliwe, we can assume that atleast one of the above or may be all will be launched in Indonesia by TATA MOTORS very soon. At last year’s IIMS (Indonesian International Motor Show), Tata had given affirmation for their entry into the Indonesian market with the launch of an Indonesian subsidiary. So there are very good chances that this year at IIMS , TATA would make official announcement or may launch its product there.
A reader of Oto.detik.com, had spotted this Tata Indica being tested in the city of Depok, it was not covered though, only the badges were covered. From the appearence of the black bumpers and the steel wheels suggest that this is an entry level variant. We know TATA Indica is one of the most successful passenger car in India by TATA which is still one of the top choice for TAXI operators and tourers. Hopefully TATA is trying to achieve similar success in Indonesia too.
Also another reader of Oto.detik.com later reported testing of TATA Aria, once again nothing was hid in the test mule, only the sticker showing TATA was covered which you can see in image shown below.
TATA Aria was TATA’s attempt to design something international and break away from their regular image, however, they failed to make any mark in India. Even they had to drop price of TATA Aria significantly in India to boost its sales. However, TATA Aria is one of the most advanced product of TATA which failed to make impression in domestic market, however, it would be interesting to see how it performs in Indonesian market. We hope learning from the mistakes they did in Indian market, they will use a proper and well planned strategy in new Indonesian market.
